GRANT PROGRAMS CPGP administers public safety related grant programs to community-based organizations, tribes, and state and local governments. FACILITIES INSPECTIONS FSO works with local law enforcement agencies to maintain and enhance the safety and security of local detention facilities. CORRECTIONS TRAINING STC works with California’s local corrections systems to improve the professional competence of corrections staff. CONSTRUCTION FINANCING CFC administers financing for local construction projects to enhance public safety and conditions of confinement across California. DATA AND RESEARCH The Research team works across divisions to collect data, report, maintain databases, and evaluate grant programs and proposals. IN-CUSTODY DEATH REVIEW Effective July 1, 2024 , ICDR will review local detention facility death-incident reports, make recommendations, track implementation and make information available to the public. THE BSCC BOARD The appointed Board holds regular public meetings to make policy decisions and, through executive steering committees, involves a diverse cross-section of Californians in its decision-making process.
